Occupation: Mr. Baldwin (Daniel) was a Baptist minister. Under the heading: Pastors of Deer Park & Farm Ridge Baptist Church 1847- 1864, is listed: Rev Daniel Baldwin 1847-1853 (from age 61 to age 67; Susan died in 1864, so maybe this was a factor in his "retirement." The family didn't get to La Salle until 1846, so Daniel started working in the church right away. (Maybe he came west to form the church). (Are there two churches here that Daniel was involved with?)

That is where we find Daniel and Susan Baldwin, who appear to be the first of our line to move from Connecticut to Illinois. They raised their family in La Salle County and died there. Susan and Daniel moved to Farm Ridge Aug, 1846.
